This is Version 0.0.004 Solo Dev Marathon!
Brief concept:
Welcome to Exosphere (working title) that may be called Hollow Moon or any of my other cool name ideas. This is a ARPG that's sci-fi with strong inspiration from EQ, WOW(classic), Morrowind Elder Scrolls 3, Path of Exile 1 and 2, and Diablo 1 and 2. You will not be fighting demons from the underworld but going to there home planet and meet them on there turf. The worlds present a challenge in themselves as they are not friendly like earth but harsh and unrelenting. The worlds themselves could be considered a enemy. You will need to equip the right gear to have the right resists to have access to planets but also resistance to deal with there harsh nature. There is a strong scientific basis for the world creation. I have almost all my needed stats to start generating the worlds.
Current state:
The character can spawn enemy's and kill them, on death they drop loot. Loot goes into Inventory. From there you can equip items on character. This affects stats and changes behavior accordingly. A piece of armor, weapon or jewelry drops every time (testing state) . If you are overrun by loot click on the "portal" to go to your ship. You will find your stash there that has 200 working slots in 4 different tabs. The data is stored and saved even across scenes.
If you hit L you bring up my world creation UI that when you hit the button generates a star and it's properties at random. Based off the star planets amount distances and a unruly amount of data that go with making a solar system. It may seem like a lot but it's not and I need more I will be likely removing the visibility of many of those stats that are not needed for gameplay. Just run in the background to model a galaxy. Honestly other then atmospheres being added to appropriate planets it's almost done. You can generate every type of star including neutron and black holes. Also see what kind of solar system it has. Click on a planet and it generates the stats for it. It may not seem like it but this is the first half (almost) of my world generation. my world generator UI just appears as data at the moment.
Disclaimer:
This is in a windows .exe version only at this point, nothing harmful about the download other then my janky code. The multiplayer part is only partly hooked up. Just join as a host you act as both server and client. This is still early prototype stage and very much a work in progress.
Wow there is quite a difference from my last upload, I will do bullet points.
- enemy's killed drop loot that is given stats and randomized
- loot on character, in stash or in inventory now has a tooltip showing stats.
- combat text shows damage received
-equipped item text shows stats updates in a HUD like combat text
- spell and weapon skills added
-stats in character window is now on tabs
- couple more resists added winds and gamma resist
- experience and character level added
-character can die and respawn with full life
-currency transfer in and out of stash
-currency added to inventory
- tool tips added
-options window added
-mini map added
-world data generation added
- Likely other stuff too but I will stop there
